Tele-Educational Services in a Future Open Service Market

Changes in the telecommunications industry are now allowing support for cooperative provisioning of multimedia tele-services. This can provide a useful model for educational organizations to handle the inherent complexity of providing tele-educational courses while leaving them time to concentrate on pedagogical issues. The Prospect project is examining the provision and management of tele-educational courses involving multiple multimedia services offered by many service providers. The paper presents the model as it applies to tele-education and presents some preliminary findings.
